In April 2006, Visual Learning Systems, Inc. (VLS) was acquired by Overwatch Systems. VLS will continue its operations in Missoula as a subsidiary of Overwatch Systems Geospatial Operations, formerly Sensor Systems. All VLS products remain in place as well as the management, sales and engineering teams. Visual Learning is a machine learning research and software development company creating information technology tools for the geographic information systems (GIS) industry. VLS develops component machine learning software technology to extend the functionality of existing GIS and image processing systems.
