Spun out of MIT with the management team being those who invented the underlying technology at that institution, Thiozen is commercializing the firm's novel process to produce low cost and low emission hydrogen from hydrogen sulfide and water. The firm is effectively developing a unique solution that c/would dramatically reduce emissions in the energy industry - generating hydrogen from a high-volume industrial waste stream and water and entirely avoiding the large carbon footprint of traditional hydrogen production. To quote a recent article about the firm - "Thiozen is a pragmatic response to greenhouse gas emissions for the energy industry, a sector that faces perhaps the most difficulty in their path to decarbonization,"
