Socrative offers tools that allow teachers to deliver quizzes and exit tickets to measure students understanding of class materials. Acquired by MasteryConnect on June 2014, Socrative is a team of educators and engineers focused on improving education. With considerable classroom experience, the focus is to address the real challenges facing educators in todays classrooms. In July 2018, it was announced that Showbie - a Canadian firmoffering a classroom workflow app with millions of users around the globe - had acquired Socrative from MasteryConnect, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based education software company. Platform was designed with pedagogical underpinnings based on the Teaching for Understanding framework, Blooms Taxonomy, the Socratic method and John Seely Browns philosophy of play, questioning and imagination. From the premise that tech tools should be simple to enhance classroom engagement, assessment and personalization, the goal has been to aid in the facilitation of rich educational experiences without a large learning curve on the components of the platform ensuring teachers and students can remain focused on their own reflection and pathways toward better understanding
