Public Profile
With facilities in Oklahoma City, Florida, and Washington DC, Sciperio Inc, formerly know as CMS Technetronics, is involved in a variety of fields of research including Water Technology and Digital Printing. Recent technological revolution in materials, chemistry, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and manufacturing can be applied to water technologies to make large, cost-effective improvements in water quality and treatment. Sciperio and its collaborators are currently developing new technologies and methods to address an anticipated scarcity of water using a three-pronged approach. The firm is focused on Water Reclamation, Purification, and Desalination in order to develop scalable, biomimetic, cost-effective methods that approach near 100% water recovery. The company aims to achieve these goals via advanced energy efficient reverse-osmosis techniques for high water throughputs and high water recovery ratios; Water Extraction using liquid desiccant processes to extract water from air to maximize water extraction density; and Saline Agriculture, in order to study salt tolerant plants or non-plant organisms as a source of novel genes and pathways related to salinity and other stress tolerance.
In the field of Digital Printing, the firm has developed direct write tools that span a number of applications ranging from electronics to biology. The firms expertise lies in the development of new digital printing processes and methods to automate those processes feasibly. In some cases, a similar platform can be used for laser cutting, electronic dispensing, chemical and biological combinatorial assays. Using laser and photonic techniques for detection and feedback as well as using precise controls for mechanical movements combined with controlling software enables custom digital printing applications. The ramifications of the digital printing technologies (a.k.a. direct write) under development at Sciperio include: Microdispensing of electronics materials; Microdispensing of biological scaffolds and cells; Microdispensing of chemicals; Microdispensing of photonics materials; Laser short-pulse cutting; Laser sintering; Rare-event detection; and Optical Coherence Tomography.
