The SBIR Network was originally formed as a division of a small consulting firm, Mithras Enterprises concentrating on corporate and technical business development for selected customers. Over time, the Company has been inactive for various periods while founder/President, Dr. Gary FitzHugh, served as CEO for other small business start-ups. Utilizing SBIR - both for internal growth and program development and for SBIR Network clients with the appropriate technology - under the trade name Shadow Research, the Navy Logistics Productivity (NLP) Research and Development (R&D) Program was edveloped with a $50K SBIR Phase I contract. The NLP Program achieved several million dollars of annual funding and has been supported by Mithras Enterprises and Dr. FitzHugh throughout its existence
