NIRSense LLC was formed by a group of individuals stuctured around tackling development of leading-edge sensor systems to optimize human performance with particular emphasis on making device improvements to support the needs of those in the armed services. From the outset, with a prototype contract with Army Contracting Command through the Defense Innovation Unit, NIRSense, - a Bionica Labs company - is developing a wearable near-infrared spectroscopy system to conduct physiological monitoring of aircrew during flight. A collaboration with customers from the Navy and Air Force, this contract builds on existing hardware innovation led by the NIRSense team to address a pressing need in a critical and challenging operational environment.
