Public Profile
Mantis Composites has developed ways in which the advantages of carbon fiber composites can be brought to intricate parts which are currently only possible to make out of machined metals - effectively allowing a new era of high performance machines. The firm's technology provides an alternative to otherwise expensive and time-consuming carbon fiber layup processes that can only produce basic shells. With a full suite of technologies developed by the firm, complex shapes with focused strength in high stress areas. By combining continuous carbon fiber composites, advanced 5-axis machines, and custom optimization software, With a developed process using continuous carbon fiber Mantis Composites can produce parts which are stronger and lighter than existing solutions. By combining this with high performance thermoplastics we can produce parts that not only allow for faster turnaround times than machined parts, but have higher overall mechanical performance than commonly used metals.
