Public Profile

Before Big Data and related terminology was in common parlance, Chiliad had been on th leading edge data analysis across clouds, agencies, departments and other stovepipes. The Chiliad Discovery/Alert™ platform enabled investigators securely to reach, find, analyze and continuously stay on top of big data—whether structured or unstructured, classified or unclassified. Chiliad empowered federal agencies to further mission goals and enterprises to further business goals with iterative discovery on any information, anywhere. Chiliad enabled organizations gain business value and actionable intelligence from all data, sources and applications. The firm's patent-pending software was designed specifically to overcome the information “stovepipe” problem—the U.S. government’s principal vulnerability on September 11, 2001. Investigations into 9/11 concluded that “connecting all the dots” across information stored in incompatible databases, documents and applications, located in different departments and organizations, would provide the proactive, real-time situational awareness necessary to interdict and avert a similar problem in the future. Chiliad was involved in the advance of on-demand, massively scalable, intelligent mining of structured and unstructured data through the use of natural language search technologies. The firm's software was behind the data search technology used by the FBI's counterterrorism data warehouse. Today, big data challenges apply not only to government investigations, but also to other industries and businesses. Until recently, Chiliad Discovery/Alert had been providing investigators in intelligence, defense, law enforcement, healthcare, pharmaceutical and other industries with software to securely reach, find, analyze and continuously stay on top of data within their own enterprises and across the globe as if all data was seamlessly contained in a single, local, real-time application. Chiliad Discovery/Alert complemented existing IT environments, data sources and applications with partners including best-in-class systems integrators, independent software vendors and platform providers, such as Accenture, BAE, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics, ITT, Northrup Grumman, Robbins-Gioia, SAIC, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat and HP. Originally located in MA and later having a strong VA presence, the firm ceased operations so
