Regrouped in 2001 from previously acquired SBIR firm NZ Applied (dba Corning Applied Technologies), Agiltron manufactures and develops photonic components and systems and offers device package and reliability test services.. Agiltron was acquiired to Photonwares Corp. in Nov. 2016 with the decisionmade that use of "Agiltron" as a brand name for all fiber optical components would continue. Primary capabilities include optical switches, variable optical attenuators, high power optical components, optical polarization and time controls, infrared detectors, molded infrared lenses, and Raman spectrometer. In addition to the optical product operation, Agiltron consists four business subsidiaries: Thermaltron for MEMS based sensors, Nanotrons for new materials based products - itzself SBIR involved, Raman Systems for portable chemical identification - acquired by Agiltron in , and Agiltron Development for government business. the firm's vertically integrated manufacturing spans advanced material production, micro-fabrication, precision mass assemblies, and intelligent control electronics/firmware, creating an extensive range of product offerings.
