From the outset (1995) Advanced Solutions, Inc. (ASI) focused on developing technology that would radically change the way spacecraft were designed, built, tested, and operated. Early quite actively SBIR involved but less so since then, management judged that Flight Software and GN&C -- more than any other subsystems - could mpact rapid progress at all stages of a spacecraft program. Therefore, ASI developed an industry-first, commercial off-the-shelf spacecraft flight software product that enabled cost-effective and highly-capable constellation and interplanetary missions. The firm's MAX Flight Software is a full-featured flight software suite that can be adapted to a wide variety of spacecraft designs, payloads, and mission requirements and has been widely adopted - flying on three dozen successful missions with continuously integrating features and lessons learned from this experience to provide a Flight Software and Simulation product experience enabling mission success for all. In October 2021, ASI was acquired by Rocket Lab, the leading end-to-end space company. Both Rocket Lab and ASI have built leading space businesses with mission proven technology: both recognizing areas of the space industry ripe for disruption and both succeeding in developing solutions that have changed how things are done â Rocket Lab through launch and spacecraft and ASI through flight software and mission solutions.
