An actionable understanding of complex soil processes requires integration and joint analysis of a large amount of heterogeneous (chemical, physical, vegetation, remote sensing, and microbiological) data from different providers and the application and use of a large number of software ana analysis tools. An integrated software environment is created that brings together the DOE developed KBASE software with reactive transport modeling code and Machine Learning Capabilities and tools for data ingestion and management. Pipelines are being provided that will automatically ingest and analyze different complex datasets. End users (both agriculture and scientists) will be able to use the integrated platform for scientific and operational efforts to gain a rapid understanding of terrestrial system functioning and soil processes. In Phase I we will design and implement an initial version of this environment. We will test and validate this toolbox against data collected by DOE scientists. This system will allow agricultural users to understand soil microbiological functioning and â based on this understanding â to optimize best management and operational practic
