Formed by Yogoslavian-born experimental nuclear physicist Bogdan Castle Maglich, eading advocate of a purported non-radioactive aneutronic fusion energy source, following an illustrious career in academic and industrial setting, Dr Maglich formed HiEnergy Microdevices, which later - following a reverse buyout by XXXX, became HiEnergy Technologies, Inc., . The firm worked on neutron-based bomb detection equipment based on Dr Maglich's invention of "atometery". HiEnergy Technologies, Inc. created he world's first "stoichiometric" diagnostic devices that could effectively decipher the chemical composition of unknown substances through metal or other barriers, almost instantly and without human intervention. HiEnergy's Atometer(tm) devices incorporated a proprietary interrogation process which activates a selected target with neutrons causing the contents to emit back gamma rays that contain unique signatures from which the chemical formulas are derived, Over the period 1997-2002 at a cost of over $4 million, by the California Atometry Collaboration, a joint private sector-government-university research consortium led by HiEnergy. Private investors, tech industry and six governmental contracts (4 Department of Defense, 1 Department of Energy, 1 US Customs) have all contributed to the development of this project.developed HiEnergy's SuperSenzor. From 3 ft away, in a matter of seconds, thatdevice could detect the chemical formula and 3D image of explosives through steel or soil; of cocaine through rice; or of anthrax through paper. The empirical chemical formulas of substances and their locations are obtained non-invasively, trans-barrier and online. In 2007 the firm went into bankruptcy
