Phase I

Contract Number: 70RWMD22C00000005
Start Date: 5/23/2022    Completed: 10/22/2022
Phase I year
2022
Phase I Amount
$149,717
The goal of this program is to fabricate and demonstrate a Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector (SPRD) based on semiconductor sensors, TlBr for gamma detection and LiInSe2 (LIS) for neutron detection. These compact SPRDs will meet or exceed ANSI 42.48 requirements at a low cost. The SPRDs will also have directional capabilities resulting in faster localization of the radiation threat. In phase I of this program, we will demonstrate a benchtop prototype of this system and determine the optimal design of the SPRDs to be fabricated in Phase II.

Phase II

Contract Number: 70RWMD23C00000006
Start Date: 4/19/2023    Completed: 4/17/2025
Phase II year
2023
Phase II Amount
$1,000,000
