Usefully understood as a social network for military personnel, their fellow colleagues and family, Baseconnect principals - themselves former military - have described what they have developed as a "Facebook for the military" - a private, invitation-only platform for active duty Guard, Reserves, military spouses and military veterans. The developed app is usefulli understood as a tool that allows military personnel to connect with each other and to address/solve problems inherent in the lives of those who are often on the move, regularly changing living accommoations. Accessible and in-use only by verified military members, BaseConnect serves to create the verifiable (and trustworthy) network of support. BaseConnect provides useful tools like an on-base phone directory and aggregates social newsfeeds along with identification and trustworthy evaluation of local services. A software as a service(SAAS), the Baseconnect platform already has hundreds of active duty, guard, reserve, military spouses and veterans using application in several military installations with the plan eventually to to every base world-wide: connecting troops to each other, to their military installation and to the local community - serving to solve the range of problems of troops and their families while boosting the local economy.
