Berkshire PowerTech marked a milestone in 2013 by delivering transmission number 3900 as part of the Orion VII diesel hybrid electric bus.: buses are in service in such cities as San Francisco, Toronto and New York City. BPTi is the largest manufacturer of hybrid bus transmissions, having designed and helped develop the high-speed (>15,000rpm input) planetary gearbox that is this hybrid bus transmission. BPTi also remanufactures gearboxes that have accumulated 250,000 miles to 'like-new' condition for extended life.
