Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. has approved qualified new business venture tax credit status for early-stage companies Bomboard LLC, Whitewater; Edison DC Systems Inc., Grafton; eInnov8 Marketing, Mequon; and Thalchemy Corp., Madison.
The designation makes investors in the companies eligible for a 25 percent tax credit on the amount they invest in the business. More than 215 companies have been certified through the program since 2005, leveraging $637 million in private investments, WEDC said.

• Bomboard has developed a high-performance, modular jet ski small enough to fit in the back of a sedan, eliminating the need for a trailer.
• Edison DC Systems has developed three products for implementing direct current power conversion systems in data centers.
• eInnov8 Marketing has developed a cloud-based product to help businesses easily integrate video, audio, images and other multi-media content into their websites.
• Thalchemy is developing a technology to boost battery life of devices including smartphones, tablets, health care and safety monitoring systems, and remote environmental sensing systems.
