\Adnoviv, a University of Hawaii energy startup, was named a finalist in a California Institute of Technology national business plan competition that's focused on clean technology and sustainability.
Adnoviv, a team of graduate students and professors from UH, was selected from more than 80 teams to compete in the finals of Caltech's First Look West contest for over $100,000 in prize money.

Adnoviv focuses on commercializing Doppler radar-based occupancy sensing technology for industrial, security and biomedical applications.
The startup is part of the second cohort of XLR8UH, a proof-of-concept center at UH.
Adnoviv was also sponsored by the Hawaii-based startup program Energy Excelerator.
