Onyx Spectrum Technology, Inc. (M/WBE, SDB, DBE, HUBZone) has announced the asset purchase of Shearwater Technology, Inc. and is poised, as a security focused, quality driven provider of products and services, to impact the market for sustaining engineering and manufacturing and support of mature, end-of-life embedded products.
September 14, 2012 - Onyx completed the acquisition of Shearwater Technology which it will operate as the Shearwater Engineering & Manufacturing (EM) Division of Onyx Spectrum Technology. The purchase is one of the initial steps in a growth strategy focusing on acquisition and diversification to reach critical mass as a supplier to government and government prime contractors.
Shearwater is a 19-year-old company with a history of supporting OEMs and government programs with end-of-life products for communication and image processing originally supplied by companies such as DataCube and Aurora Technology.
"This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Onyx, broadens our range of services for IT to electronics support and manufacturing and," says Adrienne R. Shearwater's base of manufacturing and operations will remain in Littleton, MA.
