Revolutionary IV solution has potential to save millions of livesworldwide from dehydration-related diseases
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Maji IV saline bag from Fosmo Med has been selected as one of five finalists in the Philips Innovation Fellows Competition. The competition searches for meaningful innovations that make a difference in people's everyday lives.

Huge potential life savings
Today's saline IV bags are more than 99-percent water. They're expensive to ship, have a short shelf life, and are prone to leakage.
Fosmo Med believes it has a better solution. The company's Maji product revolutionizes the logistics of IV bags by shipping them without water. Once onsite, Forward Osmosis technology converts dirty water to a sterile solution without requiring any power.
A one-liter Maji bag weighs about 3 ounces, compared to a traditional saline IV bag that weighs about 2.3 pounds, or a little less than 38 ounces.
