LSVT Global, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Online LSVT BIG Training and Certification Workshop went "live" on October 23, 2014. This new online course was developed in response to the overwhelming demand for the Live LSVT BIG Training and Certification Workshops that have been consistently sold out within the United States and internationally.
The LSVT protocols (LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG) have been developed and researched over the past 20 years with funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH). The LSVT BIG protocol targets the limb motor system and takes into account the motor, sensory and neuropsychological deficits of many people with Parkinson disease and incorporates translation to functional movement goals. Over 6,000 physical and occupational therapists in 33 countries have been trained.
"We regularly have to turn clinicians away from our live workshops," says LSVT Vice President and Co-Founder, David H. McFarland. "An online course is an effective way to give broader access to this cutting edge and highly impactful training."
The Online LSVT BIG Training and Certification Workshop saves on travel expenses and allows clinicians to learn in the comfort of their own homes and at their own pace. The increased access also means that more patients with Parkinson disease (PD) will benefit from this evidence-based and effective treatment protocol.
