Andrews Space Inc. was awarded a share of a $250 million federal contract by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for the Reusable Booster System Flight and Ground Experiments Program to meet future space lift needs utilizing autonomous, reusable, rocket-powered first stage with an expendable upper stage stack and vertical take-off and horizontal landing near the launch site.
Boeing Co., Huntington Beach, Calif., and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Corp., Littleton, Colo., shared in the award amount.
