PLEASANTON, Calif. - March 26, 2013 - AeroDynamic Solutions, Inc. (ADS) today announced the beta release of its cloud-based CFD offering, Cloud Leo.

Designed for independent consultants and small businesses frustrated by the cost and limitations of traditional CFD licensing, Cloud Leo delivers aerospace-class CFD with capacity on demand and pay-as-you-go pricing. Using Cloud Leo, compressor and turbine aero designers can tap into massive CFD firepower for improved design robustness and agility.

"The high upfront cost and constraints of traditional CFD licensing schemes have always been problematic, particularly for smaller businesses," said George Fan, President and CEO of ADS. "Cloud Leo removes these barriers, allowing savvy compressor and turbine designers to truly leverage CFD without limits."

At the heart of Cloud Leo is the commercial solver Code Leo. Rooted in decades of cutting edge aerospace application, Code Leo empowers individuals to tackle a wide range of turbomachinery aero design challenges with confidence. Using structured or unstructured input, Code Leo supports flow problems ranging from Mach .005 to 3.5 and 2D cascade analysis to multi-stage time accurate simulation.

Cloud Leo is deployed on Amazon Web Services and accessed through a companion workbench. Cases are prepared locally, including mesh generation, and uploaded securely to Cloud Leo for execution on dynamically provisioned instances. When a simulation completes, results are downloaded back to the workbench for post-processing and purged from Cloud Leo as an extra measure of security. Ten standard, turbomachinery-specific output files are provided to simplify post-processing and analysis; popular 3rd party visualization packages may be used as well.

The beta program commences immediately and is expected to last approximately sixty days. During this period, selected beta participants will gain access to Cloud Leo services for no charge other than the cost of their Amazon account, which is established separately. In return for feedback, participants will also receive special introductory pricing once the service becomes generally available.
