In collaboration with personnel at Washington University in St Louis, MO, XN Biotechnologies, LLC is tackling development of improved diagnostics in patients with kidney disease. The effort is to yield a three-dimensional map of kidney microstructure and function, based on radiological imaging. Used to guide early interventions potentially to prevent chronic kidney disease, the firm is also associated with development of an image processing software package that could be bing used as a diagnostic device accurately to detect and grade tumors in the prostate. This imaging tool could lead ultimately lead to elimination of unnecessary biopsies, overtreatment and associated complications.
