Public Profile
Sleep Research Online (SRO) is a new, totally electronic, peer-reviewed journal. It is dedicated to the rapid publication of cutting-edge research in the fields of basic and clinical sleep research. The entire process for the presentation of an article, from submission to publication to distribution worldwide, is designed to be completed in just six weeks. As a resource, it is clear that Sleep Research Online greatly benefits the field of sleep research by providing access to important information in an easily retrievable and archivable format. Moreover, SRO benefits authors insofar as their work is made immediately available, on a permanent basis, to scientists and clinicians throughout the world. SRO is sponsored by the World Federation of Sleep Research Societies (WFSRS). By establishing SRO, the WFSRS is fulfilling its designated function of promoting the communication of information and thereby enhancing basic and clinical sleep research. SRO functions under the supervision of an Honorary Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Section Editors and a Review Board; their activities are coordinated by a Managing Editor and overseen by a scientific Editor.
