WCH Technologies Corporation (WCHT) has invented a method of applying electric fields to a windshield to form invisible electronic wipers which vastly outperform the common mechanical windshield wiper. In 2009, approximately 70 million mechanical wipers were sold in a worldwide multi-billion dollar market. Product Description: The Digital Electronic Wiper (DEW) consists of thousands of thin, long, transparent electrodes embedded across the windshield, each of which are driven by a computer controlled fluctuating voltage. The resulting intense electric fields generate forces that rapidly drive water and water droplets off the windshield to maintain an entirely cleared windshield even in heavy rains. The electronic wiper has no moving parts, can displace water at a speed of up to 10 meters per second, and is virtually maintenance free.
