In 2001, Wavefront Research, Inc. (WRI) was acquired by Agilent Technologies (NYSE:A). The small firm had specialized in the development of novel optical systems and technologies that solve key problems which evade conventional solutions. To meet the market demand for high performance optical systems, Wavefront Research created products serving niche technology sectors of such diverse markets as telecommunications, imaging and transform systems, radar, high-bandwidth data links, optical interconnects, scientific instruments, and entertainment. The WRI laboratories are fully equipped to support their research, development, and prototyping requirements. Wavefront Research currently is developing: Low-Loss 1xN and MxN Optical Switches; Compact Optical Time Delay Systems; Dense Alignment-Tolerant Intra-Board VCSEL-Based Optical Interconnects; Dense Alignment-Tolerant Board-to-Board VCSEL-Based Optical Interconnects; and High Performance Ultra-Lightweight and Compact Hyperspectral Imagers.
