With a very limited SBIR presence, abchored in the company's patented Digital Electricity technology, Voltserver is a technology company developing innovative power distribution products: Packet Energy Transfer (PET) technology. Initial applications for the PET technology have been in Power over Ethernet (PeE) applications where PET has seen a 20x power improvement. By providing the ability to transmit hundreds of watts of power over a Cat 3, 4, or 5 cable, Voltserver can eliminate the necessity for dedicated power cords. PET technology is inherently safe: if, for example, a person were to touch a live wire conducting via PET, the verification signature would be disrupted and power would cease. Because individual packets do not contain enough power to harm a person there would not be a danger posed to the individual touching the wire. Voltserver was spun out of Eaves Devices, Inc..
