Under the direction of founder Pratheev Streetharan, Vibrant Composites Inc., has developed a novel manufacturing technique that could allow for the mass-production of small, complex machines between the micrometer-scale of silicon chips and the centimeter-plus scale of everyday items. The company is currently employing this manufacturing process to produce a haptic communicator that allows devices such as smartphones to signal users with taps as opposed to vibrations.
