Vandalia Research was formed as a spinout from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Vandalia had placed early emphasis on research and development directed to specific market needs, with the primary objective of commercializing novel biotechnology instrumentation and advanced biotechnology manufacturing techniques. In September 2015, the physical and intellectual assets of Vandalia were acquired by another SBIR-involved firm - Applied DNA Sciences - providing botanical DNA-based anti-counterfeiting and product authentication solutions.
