In February 2005, Uni-Pixel was acquired by a pink-sheet traded firm - Real-Estateforlease.com - which then changed its name and stock symbol to the Uni-Pixel name. Uni-Pixel Displays is in the business of developing flat panel displays based upon time multiplexed optical shutter (TMOS) technology. Uni-Pixel has developed a revolutionary, very thin, flexible flat panel display technology that offers superior performance characteristics at considerably lower manufacturing costs for a full range of products such as TVs, computers, PDAs, phones and billboards. The advantages include: lower power consumption, simplified architecture, reduced cost and better visual quality. Uni-Pixel has demonstrated prototypes and anticipates executing an exclusive field-of-use license with Sandia National Labs for its patented Sol-Gel process.
