With the objective of elimating the battery life limitations of mobile devices and power smart glass for building, Ubiquitous Energy is structured around development of transparent photovoltaic (PV) cells using the firm's proprietary Clearview Power technology: perhaps the first truely transparent solar technology. Implementing the technology into a wide range of products as an invisible, onboard source of electricity, ClearView Power technology is a thin film that covers the display area of electronic products such as wearables, tablets, smartphones, internet-of-things devices, and digital signage. The transparency is achieved by selectively transmitting light visible to the human eye, while converting invisible ultraviolet and near-infrared light into electricity. UE Power⢠harvests solar energy and serves as an invisible, onboard source of electricity for a variety of end use products. The thin coating can be applied to the surface of window glass to provide electricity generation and energy efficiency while remaining visibly indistinguishable from the fully transparent standard windows on the market today. Originally spun out of MIT, Ubiquitous Energy is producing its highly transparent, efficient solar cells and windows in its production facility in Silicon Valley
