Prediction algorithms based on expression data traditionally do not consider the correlation between genes, which results in useful information being discarded. The firms software tools were developed to capture this information by using gene-gene correlations as an additional parameter in comparing testing and training data sets. This analysis capability is sensitive, specific and an effective quantitative method to predict the activity of signaling pathways or transcriptional networks using the information encoded in gene expression patterns.
