Flagging a high rate of suicide among miliary personnel, the suggestion is that available mental health treatment for such persons is out of date and ineffective. The firm Thomas Smith LLC- in collaboration with University of Utah personnel (and former Air Force) are addressing Miruvor: a three component, multi-phased approach that will completely streamline the process for service members that prevents, diagnoses, and treats PTSD. Prevention exists as a modified Defenders Edge developed by one of those involved in this project who is himself an Air Force veteran having developed a resiliency training based program for Security Forces that reduced suicides by 40%. Diagnosis involves use of a virtual AI based therapist named Ellie developed by a team team at the University of Southern Californias Institute for Creative Technologies. Trial testing for Ellie yielded correct diagnosed of distress 80% of the time. Those so diagnosed are then offered treatment involving Cognitive Processing Therapy through the National Ability Center in Utah.
