Founded to translate/transition nanomedicines from the lab to the clinic, Theranano LLC has a developed a pipeline of technologies based on discoveries in nanomedicines and medical imaging made in Professor Srinivas Sridhar’s laboratory at Northeastern University, Boston MA. The InCeRT platform for sustained delivery of chemotherapeutics is currently being scaled up for GMP and an IND filing is underway. Clinical trials on prostate cancer was tackled in collaboration with Dana Farber Cancer Institute. A quantitative MRI method called QUTE-CE MRI - using magnetic nanoparticles to obtain vascular images with unprecedented clarity and definition - was tested in clinical trials for human brain imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital with funding from NIH. Nanoformulations of PARP and other inhibitors for cancer therapy are being tested in pre-clinical studies
