Public Profile
From software used by NASAâs Mission Control Center to animal health monitoring devices, TenXsys had provided complete solutions that can be tailored to a customerâs needs. In Novemeber 2014, the firm closed its doors. TenXsys had been focused to remotely monitoring the physical health, activity, and location of both humans and animals. By combining physiological and environmental sensors, with novel communications systems, a wide range of applications can be served with the Companyâs core technologies. A fully reconfigurable software engine had also been developed enabling real-time updates of sensor characteristics and monitoring parameters. TenXsys has a key strategic partnership with Boise State University, enabling the use of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to further research, development and testing. Ongoing cooperative research and development programs are also being conducted with the Institute for Environmental Monitoring and Research, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and the Max Planck Institute. The firm has strategic investment and development agreement with In-Q-Tel, the independent strategic venture capital fund that identifies innovative technologies to support the missions of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the larger Intelligence Community (IC). The firm was recently selected to continue development of a health and motion monitoring sensor and analysis system to support the rehabilitation of military personnel with prosthetic devices for the Department of Defense. Earlier in its development, the firm had installed monitors for animal and bird tracking in Canada, where monitors were attached to osprey and geese to determine the effects of low-flying aircraft. The monitors measure the birds' heart rate and location and include microphones so researchers can tell when the aircraft was heard. A second contract is with Austria, where monitors are placed inside eggs in nests near traffic areas and quarries to determine whether nesting habits are affected. Another development tracks workers in hazardous situations with TenXsysâ monitoring system. TenXsys also makes monitors for larger animals such as ca
