With limited SBIR Involvement - a small dollar Navy Phase I in 2003 and a slightly larger Army Phase I in 2010, Team Wendy is a reasonable sized family operation (100+ emloyees) developing leading-edge products designed to protect against serious and potentially life-threatening impact related injuries [ with particular focus on devices for head protection. Founded as a memorial to his daughter Wendy who died as a consequnc of traumatic brain injury (TBI) following a snow-skiing accident. A long-standing partnership with the US Military and the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), Team Wendy has supplied military personnel with millions of Zorbium® Action Pad (ZAP) helmet pad systems and, in 2012, the company launched the EXFIL helmet platform, marking Team Wendys return to the production of complete helmet systems. Providing head protection equipment to the Military, to Law Enforcement ?Tactical officers and police, along with Search & Rescue Search and rescue technicians wit fully integrated headborne systems allowing them to efficiently and effectively move and communicate. In the last quarter of 2020 it was announced that Avon Rubber had closed on a $130m cash offer for the firm.
