Public Profile

The professional and business activities of the firm Taylor Associates organize around the concept of Reading Plus® - a system designed to enable students to increase vocabulary, comprehension, endurance, memory, silent reading fluency, and provides the ability to systematically master higher levels of text. Reading Plus®is a guided, silent reading supplementary intervention. Students participate in a series of online, computer-based sessions that include a specific sequence of daily activities. As struggling students participate in Reading Plus®, the difficulty level of the reading material adjusts as a function of a student’s progress based upon reading comprehension and reading rate analyses. Taylor Associates simultaneously develop all three domains of reading – physical, cognitive, and emotional – by integrating them in one personalized online reading program. When students read independently their physical skills, cognitive abilities, and emotions are all working simultaneously. Yet most reading programs focus on only one of these three domains and try to develop it by isolating it from the others. Rooted in eight decades of pioneering research, only Reading Plus integrates all three domains into one personalized reading improvement system that's proven to increase student achievement.
