Ocular Dynamics LLC is a silicon valley based medical device company that has developed a coating technology that improves the wettability, lubricity and protein resistance of contact lens surfaces. The friction between the eyelid, contact lens and cornea is only one of the factors in the dynamic nature of the eye and only one of many important factors in creating a comfortable lens surface. Ocular Dynamics develops a polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymer to encapsulate contact lenses inside of a high water content shell. The firm's Hydra-PEG is one of the most lubricious surfaces available for contact lenses, while allowing for easy handling during insertion and removal.
