In December 2003, Systran Corporation was acquired by Curtiss-Wright. Systran Corporation manufactures shared-memory, fibre channel, MIL-STD-1553 and Industry Pack computer communications boards. The firm also undertakes defense related hardware/software research and development and manufactures avionics data and local area network test equipment. In the late ninteies, Systran spun off a comaopny - Systran Federal Corporation - also in Dayton OH but which was applying for SBIR awards in its own right. The spin-off was not part of the Curtiss-Wright acquisition.
