Steward-Davis International, Inc. a successor of Anglo American Aviation Company was formed in 1990 to acquire the APU/SPU power system technology developed by Steward Davis Inc. for a wide variety of aircraft applications. The Anglo American Aviation management team, technical personnel with background in the support and logistics industry assured the continuity of the original SDI designs, equipment, and manufacturing techniques, APU/SPU Supplemental Type certificates, and design of retractable airborne stairways for 747 aircraft. After commencing operations, the newly formed SDII completed the fifth and sixth APU/SPUs for the Royal Australian Air Force. In December 1992, SDII was selected as an APU/SPU vendor by Hughes Aircraft Company because of our understanding of the program requirements and previous experience in the field. The contract was to design and manufacture a large APU/SPU for a Flying testbed. In 1996, SDII completed an APU/SPU for the Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Phalcon/Chilean Air Force Condor. Later that year SDII received development and production contracts for hardware and software for Engine test equipment and data acquisition, recording and analysis for the West Los Angeles Aerocomplex in Culver City, California. In 1999 and 2000 additional installations have been provided for NATO aircraft. SDII is qualified to provide the leadership and direction required to supply Original Equipment and Retrofit Supplemental Power Systems and Auxiliary Power Units.
