SpringActive specializes in powered human assistance: wearable human assistance robots that must be lightweight, efficient, intuitive to use, nearly transparent to the user, and most importantly, safe. Drawing down from diverse engineering fields such as electronics, mechanics, computer science, and biomechanics SpringActive is working to develop a new generation of robotics, creating advances in prosthetics, rehabilitation and soldier systems using lightweight, durable and ultra strong materials to build robotic and prosthetic devices, including other systems such as innovative wearable, powered assistance devices. SBIR funded rprojects have included advanced compliant actuator concepts, cutting-edge prosthetics for amputees and energy harvesting from a walking foot-soldier.
