Structured around undertaking engineering R&D for US government customers. Spear Research has staff of qualified players with a broad mix of experience in radar, EW, cyber, SIGINT, and communications with specialties in signal processing, novel algorithm development, big data analytics, hardware design and development, and integration and test. The focus to date has been on rapid SW/HW simulation and prototyping to yield advanced technologies for insertion into upgrade and/or new development programs. In November 2020 is was announced that El Segundo CA based firm Pacific Defense - also with faciliites in Hawaii - had acquired Spear Research - a transaction driven by the smaller firm's proven expertise in Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence, and autonomous networked sensor systems and their experienced and team of engineers with core competencies in RF engineering, advanced signal processing, autonomous command and control, and system integration. The Pacific Defense platform, including Spectranetix and Perceptronics, brings rapid adoption of best of breed capabilities into AI/ML enabled high-performance Radio Frequency based systems, and Spear is defined as a key enabler to delivering full scale, low risk solutions to the DoD and select international customers.
