In 1993, Space industries merged with Calspan Corporation under the direction of Dr. Joseph P Allen, former astronaut (two Space Shuttle missions) and a mission controller for Apollo 15 and 17, and the first test flight of the space shuttle. In 1997, Calspan merged with Veda International, Inc. with the company name change to Veridian.
