SORDAL is focused primaily to the commercialization of "SOLREX®", a very light weight, non-flammable, closed cell insulation material licensed by Sordal from NASA in May 2000. The product is based in thermally stable organic polymer chemistries formulated and synthesized by Sordal. When combined with PBO honeycomb core, Solrex makes an outstanding Thermal Protection System from -423F (cryogenic) to over 600F. Among other things, Sordal is developing this TPS for next generation space shuttle liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen fuel tanks.
