Named after the Norse goddess of the future, Skuld LLC is structured around developing develop new metal processing technologies for those addressing design of more cost effective and efficient metal parts. Working to commercialize several casting technologies the firm's principals are developing thin wall ductile iron down to 1 mm thickness for weight reduction efforts. Also under development is a method similar to lost foam casting that uses 3D printed PLA forms. Addressing application of their technology to making cars lighter while retaining safety, the firm's current project is to validate their claim of being able to employ 0.060â thick ductile iron without negatively impacting properties.
