Public Profile

Skolex Biotechnologies design and operate above ground, enclosed worm vessels for waste treatment. These proprietary systems allow high densities of worms to be housed in an optimum environment where oxygen, moisture, temperature, and lighting are controlled so that the waste transformation rate is maximized. The systems operate on a flow-through principle with waste entering the top of the vessel and stabilized transformed materials exiting the bottom of the vessel. Skolex’s waste treatment systems are modular and highly portable, allowing operations to be initiated quickly and with minimal capital cost. Modular systems provide great flexibility when working with seasonal waste streams, irregular waste streams, and remediation efforts. The systems also allow operations to scale up and down as factors affecting the waste stream change. Skolex Biotechnologies systems can be installed inside or outside in rural or urban environments, and can make efficient use of space in unused warehouses and unoccupied buildings. Skolex Biotechnologies’ earthworm waste treatment systems are extremely cost effective and technically advanced for all aspects of waste treatment, earthworm processing, and the transformed waste materials (castings).  Waste treatment can be completed on site, or off site with economics driving most decisions.
