Publicly traded from 1998, the company was badly hit during the 2001 dot.com period and after filing bankruptcy, ceased business operations in 2005 . Through Shaman Botanicals, the firm had addressed discovery, development and commercialization of clinically proven proprietary botanical dietary supplements from tropical plants for the treatment of unmet healthcare needs. After the bankrupcy, the company's founder spun out Napo Pharmaceuticals Inc.
