Public Profile

Semicoa is a leader in the design and development of bipolar power devices for high-reliability military, defense, aerospace, and space applications. It offers small signal, RF small signal, and power transistors that are available in die form for hybrid circuit applications. The company sells its products through distributors and representatives in the United States and internationally. Semicoa is teamed with General Electric Global Research Center (GEGR) to improve heavy ion resistence of silicon carbide semiconductors. In 2008, Silicon semiconductor manufacturer Microsemi had announced the acquisition of silicon transistor component manufacturer Semicoa in a $25 million (£12.5 million) cash deal that will help Microsemi expand its capacity and boost its current portfolio in military-aerospace-based products. The following year - 2009, the federal government reached a settlement in an antitrust case against Microsemi Corp by which the semiconductor manufacturer divest itself of all the assets it acquired during a takeover of Semicoa Inc
