Ross Computational Resources (RCR) was founded to create a collaboration supported by a shared vision among innovative scientists, engineers, educators, curriculum developers, software developers, and human/computer interaction specialists in order to build high quality software systems for effective and exciting science education and technical training. RCR developed its concept for "EarthLab," an interactive learning environment for earth science education. The EarthLab environment was designed to facilitate an integrated curriculum, cooperative problem solving, and cross-disciplinary application of knowledge and skills. Sample curriculum units were designed to model compliance with the national science and math curriculum reform standards and effective use of Internet data resources.
