In December 2008, RLW Inc was acquired by Impact Technologies, LLC (an SBIR involved firm) and operates as a subsidiary under the name Impact-RLW Systems. Impact-RLW Systems is developing and marketing software and hardware for devices and systems that are essential to successful condition-based maintenance and machinery health monitoring. The firm is initially focusing on providing condition-based maintenance systems and health management solutions to both military and industrial customers. RLW has developed the SxNAP hardware product line of wireless monitoring devices, which provides a platform to host advanced prognostic algorithms created by Impact Technologies; the S2NAP will also serve as the central computational platform that will interface to the variety of smart sensors developed by both firms. SxNAP monitoring devices fills the “missing inch” between the machine and the internet, collecting and processing data into useful information about machine condition in a communication-ready format. RLW Inc. systems are deployed in shipyards, electric power generation plants, water treatment facilities, cement plants and other sites where uptime of machinery is critical.
